Partition coefficients have been investigated using methods in accordance with OECD/EU test methods.

A LogPow of 1.70 was determined for 1,2,3,6-tetrahydromethyl-3,6-methanophthalic anhydride (METH).

METH rapidly hydrolyses to methylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid (METHAc) in aqueous media.

LogD (distribution coefficients) of the identified isomers (5 -METHAc, 4-METHAc) were estimated taking account for the pH dependence of the substances in aqueous solution.

For the environmental and PBT assessments, the acid forms were considered more significant, with a summary logD= -4.01
