Additional information

Tris[(2 -hydroxyethyl)ammonium] citrate is a pasty amber solid with a melting point of 75 ºC (Zschimmer&Schwarz, 2012). It decomposes above 169 º C (Zschimmer&Schwarz, 2012). Its relative density at 20 ºC is 1.29 and vapour pressure is 781 Pa (Chilworth Technology, 2012). The water solubility is 334.43 g/L at 20 º and pH = ca. 6.3 -6.6 (Chilworth Technology, 2012). The log Kow was estimated by calculation and was equal to 8.6 (Chilworth Technology, 2012). the surface tension of 1 g/L solution is 62.6 mN/m (Zschimmer&Schwarz, 2012). The auto-ignition temperature is 392 ºC (Chilworth Technology, 2012). The substance is not flammable, not pyrophoric and not reactive with water (Chilworth Technology, 2012). In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII and/or Section 2 of REACH Annex XI and/or REACH Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment the performance of the studies on particle size distribution, explosive properties, oxidizing properties, flash point, dissociation constant and stability in organic solvents is not warranted.
