Preliminary test: The estimated auto-ignition temperature was 416°C.

Main study: Ignition of the test substance within 5 minutes after introduction was observed with each sample volume and with each test a minimum auto-ignition temperature was obtained. The maximum deviation between the three values was < 20°C. According to the guidelines, no further testing was required.

 

The lowest temperature at which ignition of the test substance occurred was 404°C. This temperature was rounded off to the nearest multiple of 5°C giving an auto-ignition temperature of the test substance of 400°C.

Conclusions:
A commercially available auto-ignition temperatures apparatus was used for the determination of the degree of auto-ignitability of HXL-8366. The test substance is auto-ignitable with an auto-ignition temperature of 400°C at 1010.1 – 1014.0 hPa .
