First-aid measures

- General advice:

      Show the safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

      First aider needs to protect himself.

      Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.

- Following inhalation:

      Move to fresh air.

      If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

       If symptoms persist, call a physician.

- Following skin contact:

      Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

      Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

       Wash immediately and thoroughly for a prolonged period (at least 15 minutes).

      Consult a physician if necessary.

- Following eye contact:

      Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open (at least 15 minutes)

      If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

- Following ingestion:

      Do NOT induce vomiting.

      Rinse mouth with water.

      If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

- Precautions for safe handling:

      Earth the equipment.

      Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.

       Persons with a history of skin sensitisation problems or asthma, allergies, chronic or recurrent respiratory disease should not be employed in any process in which this mixture is being used.

      - The substance/product is registered with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation) and must therefore be handled as such.

      Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Collective emergency equipment:

Safety shower. Eye fountain.

Emergency equipment and first-aid box with instructions readily available.

Hygiene measures: Do NOT drink, eat or smoke in the workplace. Separate normal clothes from work-clothes.

1. Engineering measures

      Facilities and equipment easily cleanable.

      Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits.

2. Protection measures

      Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the potential hazards and/or risks that may occur during use.

      The protective equipment must be selected in accordance with current local standards and in cooperation with the supplier of the protective equipment.

3. Hand protection

      Where there is a risk of contact with hands, use appropriate gloves

      Gloves must be inspected prior to use.

      Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough

      The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

5. Body protection

      Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

      Remove and wash contaminated clothing.

      Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.

      Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.

8. Hygiene measures

      The substance/product is registered with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18(4) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation) and must therefore be handled as such.

       Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

       Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.
