Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

*INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS-Corresponds to solid/liquid phase change at atmospheric pressure. Study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20 °C.
METHOD
The melting point was determined using a TA Instruments Q2000 DSC equipped with a Liquid Nitrogen Cooling System with a Heat-Cool-Heat method which conforms to ASTM D3418.
PROCEDURE
DSC is calibrated @ 10°C/min. with Alfa Aesar’s Adamantane, 98%, Stock #A14041, CAS#281-23-2, for onset of melting @ -65.54°C +/-0.4°C and NIST’s Indium for onset of melting @ 156.60°C +/- 0.4°C and constant for Heat of Fusion of 6.8 cal/g. The instrument is purged with Helium @ 50 c.c./min. and scanning rates for heating is 10°C/min. and cooling rates are 0.1. Sample was encapsulated in TA’s Tzero Aluminum pan and Tzero hermetic Aluminum lid. For liquid samples, the temperature range was from -80°C to 25°C. For others, the temperature range was from -50°C to 200°C or 220°C.
CALCULATIONS
Due to the unknown heat history of the sample, only the 2ndheating scan was used for the calculation. The onset of melting peak temperature, Tonset, and melting peak temperature,
Tm, as well as onset of Tg were analyzed using TA Instruments Universal Software V4.7A.
RESULTS/CONCLUSION
For LIMS#483977: MPK, no melting can be found, even cooled @.1°C/min. No Tg can be found
in this temperature range between -80°C and 25°C.
Description of key information
MPK, no melting can be found, even cooled @.1°C/min. No Tg can be found in this temperature range between -80°C and 25°C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
