Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Direct photolysis will not contribute to the degradation of the reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated in the aquatic environment because it does not absorb light at wavelengths in the 290-750 nm range which contributes to the photodegradation process.
- Executive summary:
The reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated is a fully saturated branched alkane hydrocarbon material that does not absorb light within a range of 290 to 750 nm. Therefore, direct photolysis will not contribute to the degradation of the reaction products of 1-decene, 1-dodecene, and 1-octene, hydrogenated in the aquatic environment because it does not absorb light at wavelengths >290 nm.
