Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a guideline (OECD 202) and GLP study, LISEC (1999) reported a 48 -hr EC50 value of 7.3 mg/L (95% C.I. of 6-11.2 mg.L) for ENB in Daphnia magna. US EPA ECOSAR software (v1.00a) estimates the 48 -hr daphnia EC50 for VNB substance to be 2.48mg/l and the surrogate read across substance ENB to be 2.25 mg/L, based on structure activity relationship models for neutral organic compounds. Since the QSAR predicts the toxicity of ENB and VNB to be similar with the former the marginally more toxic, it seems both reasonable and conservative to select the key parameter from the measured data using the read across substance ENB.
