Short description of key information:
The substance should be considered a member of the H4R Consortium Category 1 "Rosin and rosin salts" and, on animal welfare grounds, any testing should be considered for the group as a whole. On ingestion of monovalent cation salts of either rosin or isomerised rosin, the actual material ingested reverts to parent substance. Results for rosin can be ‘read across’ to isomerised rosin as the composition of the isomerised rosin is included within the range of compositions of rosin, and at the less chemically and biologically reactive end of that spectrum (see report ‘Justification…’ in section 13).
