Description of key information

Considering the structural environment of oxygen in the molecule, 2,3-Epoxypropanol (Glycid)contains oxygen chemically bonded only to carbon, and any chemical groups associated with oxidising properties and the oxygen balance of 2,3-Epoxypropanol (Glycid), it can be concluded that 2,3-Epoxypropanol (Glycid) is unlikely to be an oxidizer and will be incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials. Therefore, glycid does not need to be tested experimentally for oxidizing properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no
