Description of key information

When released to the atmosphere, N-(2-ethylhexyl)naphthalen-2-amine will be degraded rapidly by photochemical reaction with OH radicals.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in air:
1 d

Additional information

The half-life for photodegradation in the atmospheric compartment was estimated by use of SRC AOP v1.92 model, which is part of  EpiSuite v3.20 model calculation tool. Beside the overall rate constant of 219.7524 E-12 cm³/molecule*sec a 24h day and a concentration of OH-radicals as sensitizer of 500000 molecules/cm³ were assumed for the calculation of the half-life. The calculation resulted in a half-life of 1.75 hours (BASF 2007).
