First-aid measures

- General information:
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.
Take affected persons out into the fresh air.
Seek immediate medical advice.
- After inhalation:
Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor.
In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.
Provide oxygen treatment if affected person has difficulty breathing.
If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth.
- After skin contact:
After contact with skin, wash immediately almost 15 minutes with plenty of water.
- After eye contact:
Rinse opened eye for almost 15 minutes under running water.
- After swallowing:
Call for a doctor immediately.
Rinse mouth out with water.
- Emergency equipment:
Provide wash facilities for eyes and skin near work area.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents:
Use fire-extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.
- Special hazards caused by the substance, its products of combustion or resulting gases:
High temperatures may liberate bromine fumes. Do not breathe smoke or vapours.
- Protective equipment:
Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Wear fully protective suit.

Accidental release measures

- Person-related safety precautions:
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
- Measures for environmental protection: No special measures required.
- Measures for cleaning/collecting:
Dispose contaminated material as waste.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Flush spill site with water or aqueous cleaning agents.
May require excavation of contaminated soil. Shovel up residues and place in a labelled sealable container for subsequent safe disposal. Avoid raising dust.
Put leaking container into a labelled drum or overdrum.

Handling and storage

* Handling:
- Information for safe handling:
Open and handle receptacle with care.
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and procedures.
- Information about fire - and explosion protection:
Keep respiratory protective device available.
* Storage:
- Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:
Mechanical ventilation is recommended.
Local exhaust is needed at source of possible dust formation.
Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
- Information about storage in one common storage facility:
Store away from organic materials.
- Further information about storage conditions:
Keep container tightly sealed.
Store in dry conditions in well sealed receptacles.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Additional information about design of technical facilities:
Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.
- Additional information:
The lists valid during the making were used as basis.
* Personal protective equipment:
- General protective and hygienic measures:
The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.
Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.
Store protective clothing separately.
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
- Respiratory protection:
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory dust filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
- Protection of hands:
Protective gloves
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.
Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.
- Material of gloves:
makes of quality varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Penetration time of glove material:
The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
- Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles.
- Body protection: Use protective suit.

Stability and reactivity

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:
Stable under normal conditions of use.
May decompose under conditions of high temperatures and dampness.
- Materials to be avoided:
Reacts with reducing agents agents.
Keep away from organic materials, alcohols and bases.
Reacts with phosphorus.
- Dangerous reactions:
Reacts with alcohols, bases and phosphorus
- Dangerous decomposition products: bromine vapours.

Disposal considerations

* Product:
- Recommendation:
Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.
* Uncleaned packaging:
- Recommendation:
Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
