Description of key information

The melting/freezing point of diopotassium heptaflourotantalate was reported to be 720ºC. This is based on the weight of evidence approach using data from three peer reviewed handbooks.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
720 °C

Additional information

The melting/freezing point of the test material has been addressed by providing data on a weight of evidence basis.

Three handbooks (Clayton & Clayton, 1981; Lewis, 2004; Lide & Haynes, 2010) have provided physico-chemical data which has been cited directly from the literature. These texts have been peer reviewed and consequentially have been assigned a reliability score of 2, using the principles set out in Klimisch (1997). The individual values reported in the handbooks are as follows; Clayton & Clayton 1981 - 720ºC, Lewis 2004 - 730ºC, and Lide & Haynes - 730ºC.
