Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification
The hazard assessment is based on the data currently available. New studies with the registered substance and/or other member substances of the glycol esters category will be conducted in the future. The finalised studies will be included in the technical dossier as soon as they become available and the hazard assessment will be re-evaluated accordingly.
For further details, please refer to the category concept document attached to the category object (linked under IUCLID section 0.2) showing an overview of the strategy for all substances within the glycol esters category.
Classification relevant information for environmental hazard:
Degradation
Biodegradation: readily biodegradable (82.9 % degradation after 28 d at 12.9 mg test item/L, OECD 301 B) and based on read across from CAS 68583-51-7, CAS 68958-54-3 and CAS 853947-59-8
Bioaccumulation
Log Kow: > 7 (QSAR)
Aquatic acute toxicity
Fish:
· LC50 (96 h) of > 100 mg/L (nominal, OECD 203) based on read across from CAS 68958-54-3.
· LL50 (96 h) of > 1000 mg/L (nominal, WAF, EU Method C.1) based on read across from CAS 68583-51-7.
· LC50 (96 h) > 14 mg/L (arithm. mean meas., EU Method C.1) based on read across from CAS 853947-59-8.
Aquatic invertebrates: EC50 (48 h) > 0.57 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured, OECD 202)
Algae/aquatic plant: ErC50 (72 h) > 0.59 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured, OECD 201)
Aquatic chronic toxicity:
Fish: no data available
Aquatic invertebrates: no data available
Algae/aquatic plant: ErC10 (72 h) > 0.59 mg/L (arithmetic mean measured, OECD 201)
Classification according to CLP
Isooctadecanoic acid, monoester with propane-1,2-diol (CAS 68171-38-0) is considered rapidly biodegradable. Experimental data as well as appropriate read across data are available covering the potential acute toxicity of three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae) while chronic toxicity data are available for algae. No toxic effects were recorded up to the limit of the water solubility (< 0.02 mg/L). Therefore the substance is not classified and labeled concerning environmental hazards, according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and further amendments (ATPs).
