Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One study determining the acute toxicity of sodium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate (CAS No. 2702-72-9) to Daphnia magna was available (Raszka, 1996). This test was conducted according to OECD Guideline No. 202, Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test (1984). Daphnids were exposed for 48 hours to the test material within a static water regime. Immobilisation was observed at the highest concentration tested, resulting in an EC50 of 532 mg test substance/L (corresponding to 489.4 mg a.i./L). Additional information on the toxicity of the degradation product of this substance in water, 2,4 -dichlorophenoxyacetic acid could be gathered from the review report on 2,4-D acid (European Commission, 2001) in which a 48h-EC50 = 100 mg a.i./L for Daphnia magna is stated.
