Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The average surface tension of duplicate 90% saturated solutions of the test substance in water has been determined to be 63.7 mN/m at 20 ± 0.5 °C.
Executive summary:

The surface tension was determined under GLP to OECD TG 115, using the ring method. The determination was carried out using a White Electrical Institute Co. Ltd. torsion balance for surface and interfacial tension measurements. The vessel, all glass ware and the ring necessary to perform the test were cleaned thoroughly before the main study.
For the test, two sample solutions were prepared by adding an aliquot of test substance (about 0.2 g) to 200 mL of high purity water, shaking the solution at 30 °C for 24 hours, then re-equilibrating at 20 °C for about 22 hours, centrifuging at 13000 rpm for 15 minutes and filtering through 0.45 μm filters. The isolated, saturated filtrate was then diluted to 90% of its former concentration with checked, in tolerance, high purity water. An aliquot of each sample solution was transferred to an individual measurement vessel and the surface tension was then measured. Since the surface tension of a solution in the measurement vessel may alter over a period of time, several measurements were made until a consistent value was obtained. The time elapsed since the solution was transferred to the measurement vessel was recorded for each value. The pH of each solution was measured.
