Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No aquatic toxicity data are available for the registered substance. Reliable short-term aquatic toxicity test results for freshwater fish, invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae are available for Hydrocarbons, C18-C24, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics and Hydrocarbons, C15-C19, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics. Reliable short-term and long-term aquatic toxicity tests results for freshwater fish, invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae are also available for the substances GTL Gasoil and GTL Base Oil Distillates. These are used as weight of evidence for Hydrocarbons, C16-C22, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics.

Hydrocarbons, C18-C24, isoalkanes, <2% aromatics

Acute LL50 or EL50 values for freshwater fish, invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae were >100 mg/l water accommodated fractions (WAFs).

Hydrocarbons, C15-C19, n-alkanes, isoalkanes <2% aromatics

Acute LL50 or EL50 values for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae were >100 mg/l water accommodated fractions (WAFs).

GTL Gasoil (C8-C26)

Acute LL50 or EL50 values for the three organisms were >1000 mg/l water accommodated fractions (WAFs), respectively.

The No Observed Adverse Loading Rate (NOELR) for fish was determined to be at least 100 mg/l in a Fish Early Life Stage test with Fathead minnow.

The 21 day NOELR forDaphnia magnawas 32 mg/l.

A NOELR value of 1000 mg/l based on growth was determined in the algal test.

A 28 day NOEC value of ≥1000 mg/kg has been determined withChironomus tentansand a 28 day NOEC value of ≥100 mg/kg with Lumbriculus variegates.

GTL Base Oil Distillates (C18-C50)

Acute LL50 or EL50 values for the three organisms were >1000 mg/l water accommodated fractions (WAFs) for fish and >100 mg/l water accommodated fractions (WAFs) for invertebrates and algae. A NOELR value of ≥100 mg/l based on growth rate was also determined in the algal test.

Long-term aquatic toxicity studies with GTL Base Oil Distillates were also available with freshwater fish (Pimephales promelas) and aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna). In both studies no effects were observed at the highest loading rates tested: NOELRs ≥100 mg/l WAF loading rate.
