Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information : Get medical aid.
First aid measures :
- Inhalation : Remove casualty to fresh air and keep at rest. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
- Skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Rinse immediately with plenty of water and mild soap for at least 15 min.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min. Occasionally lift up the upper and lower eyelids.
- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).
Note to physician : treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media : Alcohol resistant foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray.
Special hazards arising from the substance: nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides.
Protection against fire : If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section Exposure controls and personal precaution. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Avoid inhaling vapors, fods of pulverizing or gases. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe places. Avoid inhalation.
Environmental precautions : Do not let the chemical enter the environment.
Clean up methods : Collect and evacuate without creating dust. Sweep and deprive of the shovel. Keep in bowls adapted and closed for the elimination.
Handling and storage
Storage : Store in tightly closed, properly ventilated containers. Store in dry, well-ventilated, cool area.
Hygroscopic : Handle and store under inert gas. Sensitive to : carbonic anhydride, moisture.
Handling : Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Provide adequate ventilation where dust is formed.
This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Industrial hygiene : Use adequate ventilation to keep airbone conentrations low . Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Personal protection :
- Respiratory protection : For nuisance exposure, use type P95 (US) or type P1 (EU EN 143) particle respirator. For higher level protection, use type OV/AG/P99 (US) or type ABEK-P2 (EU EN 143) respirtor cartridges. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).
- Hand protection : Wear suitable gloves resistant to chemical penetration.
- Skin protection : Wear suitable protective clothing. Protective boots if the situation requires. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
- Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN 166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166 (EU).
This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate.
