Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Evaluation of the criterion persistency:

Based on biodegradation screening test the substance is regarded as inherently biodegradable. According to guidance information requirement R16, the biodegradation half-life in surface water for inherently biodegradable substances is 150 days, which exceeds the trigger value of 40 days set out in Annex XIII of REACH.

Therefore, the substance fulfils the criteria for persistency set out in Annex XIII of REACH regulation.

Evaluation of the criterion Toxicity:

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification as carcinogenic (category 1A or 1B), germ cell mutagenic (category 1A or 1B), or toxic for reproduction (category 1A, 1B, or 2) according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008 based on the available fully reliable data.

The substance NOEC/ EC10 for from available toxicity tests with freshwater algae is 145 mg/L and thus >> 0.01 mg/L.

There is no other evidence of chronic toxicity. The criteria for classification: specific target organ toxicity after repeated exposure (STOT RE category 1 or 2) according to Regulation EC No 1272/2008 are not met.

Therefore, criteria for Toxicity as set out in Annex XIII of the REACH regulation are not fulfilled.

Evaluation of the criterion Bioaccumulation:

The substance has no adsorption potential (measured logP = 0.94 (at pH 2)). Thus, a bioconcentration factor of << 2000 is likely. Therefore, criteria for bioaccumulation as set out in Annex XIII of the REACH regulation is not fulfilled.

The substance 6,6',6''-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyltriimino)trihexanoic acid is not PBT/ vPvB.
