First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water. If irritation develops, seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash throughly with water followed by soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water-spray, dry powder, carbon dioxide or foam may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur together with some soot.

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Sweep up solid
and transfer to containers for disposal by incineration at
an authorised facility.
Handling and storage
Handling: Observe the usual precautions when handling organic
chemicals. Protective clothing i.e. safety glasses, safety
boots, PVC gloves and helmet should be worn plus dust mask
or air hood. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Storage: Store in sealed containers in dry conditions at room
temperature.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Paper coated woven laminated polyethylene 25kg sacks.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Flammable and toxic carbon disulfide is liberated on contact
with strong acid.
Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Large spills may contain contaminated material which can be
scooped up for use in rubber. The remaining contaminated
material should be collected into a container for disposal.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It may be possible to render the dithiocarbamate portion
insoluble by treatment with heavy metal salts, e.g iron
sulfates. Otherwise, none known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: ROBAC SAA/30 can be disposed of as special waste by
landfill. It should not be released into drains, sewars or
watercourses.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: ROBAC SAA/30 can be incinerated in incinerators capable of
dealing with relatively large amounts of sulphur oxides as
combustion products (flue gas scrubbing).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: As a dithiocarbamate, SAA/30 concentrations in effluent at
the production site ate substantially reduced by treatment
with iron salts to precipitate the dithiocarbamamte and
complex the cystamine
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: ROBAC SAA/30 can be destroyed by treatment with the mineral
acid to give cystamine and dibenzylamine salts. However the
other product of destruction is liquid carbon disulphide
which is flammable and toxic and needs careful separation
from the aqueous layer followed by incineration.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will not enter the public
domain.
