Description of key information

The test substance is hydrolytically stable under acidic, neutral, and basic conditions based on two OECD TG 111 followed studies (Glänzel 1999 & Adam 2005).

The half-life of the test substance in the atmosphere by hydroxyl radical oxidation is estimated to be approximately 1 day, assuming 0.5E+06 radicals/cm3 and 24 hour/day OH timeframe (Atkinson method) (Glänzel 1996).

The photolysis of the test substance in water was investigated in accordance with OECD TG 101 and an OECD draft guideline. The molar absorption coefficients are < 10 L/mol/cm at wavelengths ≥ 290 nm. Therefore, the test substance is expected to be stable to photolysis under environmentally relevant conditions (Oliver & Hurt 2002).

In an EPA 161-3 followed phototransformation in soil study, the DT50 of the test substance was determined to be 296.2 days under 30°N - 50°N summer sunlight (Adam 2000).
