Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information
First aider: Pay attention to self-protection! Avoid contact with the product. When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.
After inhalation
Remove affected person to fresh air and ensure unhindered breathing. Call a physician immediately.
After contact with skin
After contact with skin, wash immediately with polyethylene glycol, followed by plenty of water. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.
Call a physician immediately.
After eye contact
Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do If eye irritation persists call an ophthalmologist.
After ingestion
Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. Administer water containing activated charcoal (10%). Immediately consult a doctor.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Irritation of skin and mucous membranes.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
Water spray, alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry extinguishing powder
Unsuitable extinguishing media
Full water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
On intense heating explosive mixture with air possible.
Emission of irritating and toxic fumes and gases.
In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon oxides, Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
Advice for firefighters
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Full protection suit.
Additional information
Heating causes rise in pressure with risk of bursting.
Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet.
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Remove all sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Wipe up with absorbent material (eg. cloth, fleece). For large amounts: Dike spillage and pump off into suitable containers. Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth or universal binding agents). Clean up affected area.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work.
Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
Further information on handling
Keep container tightly closed.
Requirements for storage rooms and vessels
Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Hints on joint storage
Store separated from strong oxidising agents. For storage in a common place refer to the respective regulations.
Specific end use(s)
Intermediate under strictly controlled conditions

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls
Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system.
Protective and hygiene measures
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work.
Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately.
Immediately remove spillages.
Eye/face protection
Wear tightly fitting safety goggles. (DIN EN 166)
Hand protection
Wear suitable gloves. (EN ISO 374)
The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.
recommended glove material: NBR (Nitrile rubber)
Minimal thickness of the glove material for penetration time 8 h: 0,4 mm
Skin protection
Wear suitable protective clothing.
Choose suitable personal protection equipment dependent on substance concentration and amount specific for workplace. Chemical resistance should be clarified with the supplier.
Respiratory protection
In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. At exposure to vapour, mist or aerosol wear respiratory equipment. Recommended Filter: ABEK. Maintenance, testing and change of the filter cartridges must be performed following the recommendations of the supplier.
Environmental exposure controls
Avoid release to the environment.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity
No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.
Chemical stability
The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.
Possibility of hazardous reactions
Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.
In use may form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture.
Conditions to avoid
Heat, sources of ignition
Incompatible materials
strong oxidizing agents,
strong acids, bases
Hazardous decomposition products
No information available
Disposal considerations
Disposal recommendations
Chemicals and packages as waste must be disposed of in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and the respective national and local regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.
Contaminated packaging
Do not contaminate ground- or surface waters via drainage, by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes. Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
