Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Febr.19, -Febr. 26, 2019
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
< -20 °C

Two DSC measurements were performed, during the measurement no melting point could be detected.

In the pre-test for melting point the test substance was still liquid at -20.5 °C and was frozen at -80 °C.

According toREGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, Annex VII, dated 18. December 2006 (last amended by Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/2235 of 12 December 2016), the determination of the melting / freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C.

Therefore, no additional test was conducted and the melting point is stated as:

<- 20 °C (< 253.15 K).

Conclusions:
The freezing point is stated as: < - 20 °C (< 253.15 K).

Description of key information

The melting/freezing point was tested according to the OECD Guideline 102.

The freezing point is stated as: < - 20 °C (< 253.15 K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According toREGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, Annex VII, dated 18. December 2006 (and further amendments) by Commission Regulationthe determination of the melting- / freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C.
