First-aid measures
For emergencies, use an air-supplied respirator before approaching person. Move the exposed person to fresh air. If not breathing, provide artificial respiration or if possible oxygen. Get immediate medical attention if breathing difficulties continue.
Exposure by skin contact:
Remove immediately from skin using soap and water. Consult a physician should the skin become irritated. Discard contaminated clothing or clean before re-use.
Exposure by eye contact:
Flush eyes with running water immediately, holding the eyelids open. Remove contact lenses if worn, after initial flushing. Continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.
Exposure by ingestion:
Not a likely route of entry, but if swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give conscious victim one to two glasses of water or milk and call a physician or poison control centre immediately for further instruction. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Note that ingestion of this product or subsequent vomiting may result in aspiration or a light hydrocarbon liquid.
Fire-fighting measures
If a fire were to occur, do not enter any enclosed or confined space without proper protective equipment, including a self-contained breathing apparatus. Fires should be extinguished using extinguishing media such as CO2, Dry chemical, foam or water fog. Pyrolysis products of the preparation will include airborne solids (including iron and iron oxides), gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and a complex mixture of hydrocarbon compounds. These decomposition products will depend on the combustion conditions
Accidental release measures
Contain spill with inert absorbent material or by dyking the area around the spill to prevent further contamination of the soil, surface water or groundwater. If possible, remove material by pumping it into a disposable container. If necessary remove contaminated soil. Incineration of waste residues is an appropriate method of treatment.
Handling and storage
Avoid contact with eyes and skin; product may cause irritation.
Do not ingest or inhale. If swallowed or inhaled, the material can directly enter the lungs and is difficult to remove. Once in the lungs it can cause severe injury. Although the material is not normally dispensed via spraying, respiratory protection should be used in situations where there is a possibility of atomization.
Use rubber gloves (neoprene or nitrile) to prevent skin contact (to a Standard EN374).
Wear appropriate eye protection (The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in EN166).
Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Wash thoroughly after handling the product.
Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by Standard EN368
Storage:
Containers should be stored under ambient conditions in an upright position to prevent leakages.
The MR Fluid is packaged in a sealed 55-gallon drum fitted with inlet/outlet quick connects for use in the shock manufacturing process. The drum is encased in a metal cage to protect it during shipping and at the manufacturing site. For small samples, the fluid is packaged in a 1-liter high density polyethylene bottle, which is taped; heat sealed in plastic, and shipped in a Styrofoam shell form-fitted for our bottles in a cardboard box.

Stability and reactivity
Electrostatic charge may accumulate and create a hazardous condition. To minimize these hazards, bond and ground all containers. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, grind, drill or expose containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricity or other sources of ignition.
This preparation may react with oxygen and strong oxidizing agents such as chlorates, nitrates, peroxides, etc. Avoid mixing with these materials.
