Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- auto-flammability
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- other:
- Justification for type of information:
- a self-ignition study does not need to be conducted because adequate data from a self-heating study are available

- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- other: GLP. Guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
- GLP compliance:
- yes (incl. QA statement)
- Interpretation of results:
- other: Not highly flammable
- Conclusions:
- The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of Tolfamato.
No propagation of combustion of the test substance along 200 mm lenght of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guiderlines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obstained, the test substance is considered "not highly flammable".
In conctact with the flame of the gas burner the test substance melted and turned into a white residue. White smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test substance was observed.

Results and discussion
Any other information on results incl. tables
No exothermic effect of the test substance was observed. It demostrated that the test substance is "not a self-heating substance".
After de experiment, a highly viscous liquid remained in the container that was place below the cube. It demostrated that te test substance was molten during the experiment.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The test substance is considered "not a self-heating substance"
