Conclusion on classification
Aquatic acute toxicity
48 h, EC50 (Daphnia magna): >0.372 mg/L (geometric mean measured; corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L)
7 d, EC50 (growth rate) (Lemna gibba):>0.175 mg/L (geometric mean measured; corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L)
96 h, LC50 (Danio rerio): > 0.040 mg/L (geometric mean measured), nominal: 100 mg/L based on the study withthe read across substance Yellow 22, CAS 90268 -98 -7)
Aquatic chronic toxicity
7 d, EC50 (growth rate) (Lemna gibba):>0.175 mg/L (geometric mean measured; corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L)
No lethal or sub-lethal effects for fish, invertebrates or plants were detected up to the solubility limit of the registration substance and the read across substance Yellow 22 (CAS 90268-98-7), respectively, in the test media.
Biodegradation:
The substance was not readily biodegradable by OECD criteria (15.8 % biodegradation on day 28).
Partition coefficient:
Log Pow < -0.1 at 20 ºC
Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable under the test conditions. The most sensitive test for the aquatic compartment was the toxicity test with Lemna gibba. The 7-d EC10 and EC50 (growth rate) of the registration substance was determined to be > 0.175 mg/L (geometric mean measured, corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L). The 48 -h EC50 for Daphnia magna was >0.372 mg/L (geometric mean measured, corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L). The 96 -h LC50 for Danio rerio was> 0.040 mg/L (geometric mean measured), nominal: 100 mg/L based on the study withthe read across substance Yellow 22, CAS 90268 -98 -7.
As the registration substance and the read across substance hasa log Pow < 4, classification as long term (chronic) aquatic toxicity category 4 is not considered.
Based on the above results, the substance is neither classified for short term (acute) aquatic toxicity nor classified for long term (chronic) aquatic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the twelfth time in Regulation (EU) No 2019/521.
