Administrative data
First-aid measures
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with large amounts of water for 10-15
minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing immediately. Remove from
skin with waterless hand cleaner or cold cream. Discard
contaminated clothing and shoes.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
be used.
Use a water spray to cool and protect exposed material or
overheated containers. Also used to contol fumes. Ensure
that spray does not spread fire.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Impervious clothing and NIOSH-MSHA approved self-contained
breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
protective clothing (see 2.3.1).
Ventilate area and try to contain spill by diking with sand
or other absorbent material. Collect spill for disposal by
scooping up liquids and absorbing with sand or other
approved absorbent materials. Transfer to labelled
containers and dispose of in accordance with local
regulations.
Handling and storage
Wear dusk mask, rubber or neoprene gloves, and splashproof
safety goggles.
Provide adequate cross air ventilation.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in tightly closed
containers. Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent vapour
concentration build-up. Keep away from strong oxidising and
reducing agents and acids.
Use explosion proof electrical equipment which is grounded
to prevent static discharge.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Phenolic resin lined steel drums, 200 kg capacity.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Must not be discharged.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form
of automotive fluids at very low concentrations.
