- The test solutions were prepared directly in ISO-medium. The final test solutions ranged from clear without precipitation to slightly turbid suspensions at 3,200 and 10,000 mg/1.

- A range-finding test was performed to provide information about the range of concentrations to be used in the final test: three fish per concentration were exposed to a concentration range of 0.1 to 10 mg/l with an increasing factor of 10, while seven fish were exposed
to 0 and 100 mg/l.
During the Definitive test carp were exposed to concentrations exceeding 100 mg/l, i.e. ranging from 320 to 10,000 mg/l. - Details on test conditions:
- Seven fish per concentration and controls were exposed to nominal concentrations of 9-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]-9-[3(oxiranylmethoxy)propyl]- 2,5,8,10,13,16-hexaoxa-9-silaheptadecane in ISO-medium, aerated until the dissolved oxygen concentration had reached saturation and the pH had stabilized. After aeration the hardness was 250 mg CaC03 per litre and the pH was 8.0 + 0.2. Test vessels were all glass 6 litre tanks and the test media was aerated continuously with a 16 hour photoperiod. Test animals were not fed from 24 hours prior to the test and during the total test period. Fish were introduced to the test system direcly after preparation of test media.
The test solutions were prepared (320, 1000, 10000 mg/L) directly in ISO-medium. The final test solutions ranged from clear without precipitation to slightly turbid suspensions at 3,200 and 10,000 mg/L. Mortality and other effects At (2.5), 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours following the start of exposure. Dead fish were removed when observed. A 96-Hour Acute Toxicity Study in Carp with9-[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]-9-[3(oxiranylmethoxy)propyl]- 2,5,8,10,13,16-hexaoxa-9-silaheptadecane was conducted.
The study procedures described in this report were based on the EEC directive 92/69, Part C.l. "Acute toxicity for fish"; and the OECD guideline No. 203: "Fish Acute Toxicity Test", Adopted 17 July, 1992.
The first toxicity test was a range-finding test at test substance concentrations of 0.1, 1.0, 10 and 100 mg/1. No effects were observed at any of these test concentrations. Then, a definitive test was performed with carp exposed to concentrations ranging from 320 to 10,000 mg/1 in a static system.
The 96h-LC50 for carp was estimated at 4,200 mg/l with 0 % mortality at 1000 mg/l and 100 % mortality at 10,000 mg/1.
