Description of key information

A log Pow of -2.91 was measured for N,N-dimethylglycine, the anionic part of the molecule.

Additional information

A study was conducted measuring the potassium content in the octanol and water phase (BASF, 1989). A log Pow of -3.7 (equivalent to Pow = 0.0002) at 25 °C was determined. Furthermore, Tsai, R.S. et al. (1991) determined a log Pow of -2.91 for N,N-dimethylglycine, the anionic part of the molecule, as published in the PhysProp Database. A calculation using EPI Suite v4.11 KOWWIN was performed for N,N-dimethylglycine by the registrant and a log Pow of -2.73 was determined for the uncharged molecule. All available data were evaluated in a weight of evidence approach. The determined log Pow of -2.91 was chosen as key parameter.
