Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Inhalation:
this risk doesn’t exist under normal circumstances
- Eyes:
Contact with the eyes – Wash immediately and abundantly with water, eyelids open, for at least 15 minutes. Consult a specialist.
- Skin:
Contact with skin – after contact with the skin, wash with water and soap. Do not use solvents.
- Ingestion:
No special treatment is generally needed. Do not force to vomit and avoid any risk of penetration into respiratory tracts.
In case of severe disorders, call a doctor or emergency medical assistance.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent:
foam, CO2, powder
Not recommended : water jet
Product arising from burning: incomplete combustion and pyrolysis produce harmful gases such as CO2, CO, various hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ….and soot.
Inhalation of these gases is dangerous
Product determined by test: No
Protective equipment: closed system respirator in confine environment to protect from fumes and harmful gases.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage : according to the exposure risks, wear protective gloves, boots, hydrocarbon resistant suit. Spillages may render the floor slippery.
Measures to protect the environment : adequate installation design, take all necessary measures to prevent soil and water.
Protect sewers from potential spillages to minimize risks of pollution.
Cleaning methods :
- material recovery : contain the spillage with physical means (pump, skimmer,…) and recover with sand or any other inert absorbing medium. Do not discard in the sewer.
- Disposal : deliver all spoiled equipment to an authorized collector
Handling and storage
Handling: minimize skin contact. Wash hands after contact
Storage: store at ambient temperature, avoid contact with water, humidity and ignition sources.
Keep package closed when not used. Design installations and take all necessary measures to avoid soil and water pollution
To avoid : outside storage
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: full opening steel drums, 216 to 225 kg.

Exposure controls / personal protection
General protective and hygiene measures:
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated.
Protection of hands:
Oil resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/the substance/the preparation.
Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/the preparation/ the chemical mixture.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.
Material of gloves:
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Penetration time of glove material:
The exact break trough time has to be found out by manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles.
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None
Chemical reaction with water: None
Dust explosion:
not, the substance is in a product that is never under powdered form
Dust explosion determined by test: No
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling:
Suitable disposal methods : the only authorized disposal method in France is the removal of the product by an authorized collector and regeneration or burning at an authorized facility
Spoiled packages:
Suitable disposal method : hand over to an authorized collector
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Non authorized
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: not a high temperatures
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: no information available
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: none
Public at large public - Possibility of recovery/recycling: this substance is not intended for public use
Public at large public - Possibility of neutralisation:
this substance is not intended for public use
Public at large public - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: this substance is not intended for public use
Public at large public - Possibility of destruction - incineration: this substance is not intended for public use
Public at large public - Possibility of destruction - water purification: this substance is not intended for public use
