L3 hydrolyses with a half-life13.7 days at pH 7 and 25°C.

A half-life of 13 days for reaction with hydroxyl radicals in air has been calculated for L3.Phototransformation in water and soil are not expected to besignificant removal processes for L3.

Biodegradation of 0% in 28 days has been determined for L3.

Data are available for degradation in soil simulation testing. Half-lives (closed tubes) of 1.48 d at 32% RH and at 22.5°C to 119.5 d at 100% RH and at 22.5°C(estimated to be 24 days when corrected for amount of L3 predicted to be in headspace at this RH)have been determined for Michigan Londo soil. A half-life (closed tubes) of 0.26 d at 32% RH has been determined for Buxton, UK loamy silt soil. In open systems at higher RH, volatilisation became the predominant removal process, with a volatilisation half-life <1d at 100% RH at 22.5°C.

In exposure modelling (EUSES 2.1.2) a half-life value of 10 days at 20°C will be used, based on the value of 6.19 d (#1) (92% RH 22.5°C Closed). This is an estimate. The exact value is not significant in respect of the overall risk characterisation for soil.

L3 has a sediment degradation half-life of 6.91 years at 12°C.
