Description of key information

There are no data available concerning carcinogenicity of the test substance. However, based on the results of several in vitro genotoxicity assays (Ames test, HGPRT assay, micronuleus test) and an in vivo micronucleus test N-Vinylformamide is considered to be non-mutagenic. Furthermore, there is no evidence for a carcinogenic effect from a subchronic (90 days; OECD 408) repeated dose toxicity study via inhalation in rats. Consequently, and for the sake of animal welfare, the conduct of carcinogenicity testing is not warranted.
