Justification for type of information:
In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI: testing (required in section 7.2) does not need to be conducted because plausible literature data are available that show the melting point to be in the range of 1200-1500 °C (OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Guideline for Calcium Silicate). This value is significantly > 300°C and the generation of additional data would have no relevance for risk assessment.

Description of key information

The melting point is in the range of 1200-1500 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
1 200 °C

Additional information

Plausible literature data are available that show the melting point to be in the range of 1200-1500 °C (OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Guideline for Calcium Silicate). This value is significantly > 300°C and the generation of additional data would have no relevance for risk assessment.
