Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment

Administrative data

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Overall conclusion:Based on the assessment described in the subsections below the submission substance is not considered as PBT / vPvB.

Persistence assessment

Conclusion of P / vP assessment

The test substance is an inorganic compound that will not be biodegraded. The substance does not dissociate in water. Hence, the substance appears to fulfill the screening criteria for persistence (P) as mentioned in the ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment (Table R. 11-1).

Bioaccumulation assessment

Conclusion of B / vB assessment

The substance has a low solubility in both water and n-octanol, so the octanol/water partition coefficient (Kow) could not be determined. In view of the low solubility of the substance in both water and octanol, no conclusion about expected bioaccumulating potential can be made, hence the criterion for bioaccumulation (B) cannot be evaluated according to the ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R. 11: PBT Assessment (Table R. 11-1).

Toxicity assessment

Conclusion of T assessment

The substance showed no acute toxicity for aquatic organisms (fish, daphnia or algae) up to the water solubility limit. In addition, the substance has not found to be toxic in any mammalian toxicity testing, nor the substance was found to be carcinogenic, toxic to reproduction or mutagenic. Therefore, the substance does not fulfill the criterion for toxicity (T) as mentioned in the ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R. 11: PBT Assessment (Table R. 11-1).
