Description of key information

The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the key-study performed according to DIN ISO EN 10712 on Pseudomonas putida no toxicity in the range of water solubility was detected. The EC10 (16 h) is 10000 mg/L.

The test substance caused a strong increase in bacterial cell multiplication over the whole tested concentration range (max. 37.3 % compared to an untreated control) and a single species test is more sensitive than a mixed inoculum, therfore the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
