Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Seek medical attention, symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention, symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing agents are water mist, carbon dioxide

or foam.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides together with copper oxide and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: None recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Solid: Sweep up and transfer to waste container for disposal

at an approved landfill site.

Liquid: Absorb spillage using suitable material (eg sand),

sweep up and transfer to waste containers for disposal at an

approved landfill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Normal standards of good housekeeping should be followed.

Avoid ingestion, skin and eye contact and inhalation of

dust. The substance should be handled in a well ventilated

area. If dust is generated, a respirator should be used.

Storage: No special precautions.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery is not economically possible

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Solsperse 5000 has a low water solubility and the molecule

on which it is based is extremely stable, chemical treatment

is not considered appropriate.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an approval landfill site is possible. Discharge

to waste is not recommended.  However, in emergencies,

dilution to a concentration of 10 mg/litre or lower should

be used if discharge to rivers is likley.(A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended, a temperature above 950 deg C should be used

and waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur

oxides. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is not readily biodegradable and it is

unlikely that the substance will be appreciably degraded in

aerobic biological processes of short duration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
