Any other information on results incl. tables

1. Self-ignition in the Grewer-Oven

In the investigation of self-ignition in the Grewer-oven for the pure test item a small, broad endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range from 50 - 160°C. From about an exothermic process was detected, that led to a maximum temperature of approx . 425 °C.

For the test item in mixture with Kieselguhr a small exothermic effect was observed from around 300 °C.

2. Final Results I Classification

The pure test item indicated self-ignition from a temperature of 270 °C.

2.1       Directive 67/548/EEC

The temperature of the oven at which the temperature of the test item reaches 400 °C by self-heating is regarded as the self-ignition temperature. Therefore the self-ignition temperature for the test item is 382 °C.

2.2.       UN Transport Guideline

As the self-heating temperature lies above 220 °C, the test item does not have to be classified as self-heating substance in Class 4 Division 4.2 according to the UN Transport Guideline.

2.3.       GHS and EC 127212008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.11:

As the self-heating temperature lies above 220 °C, the test item does not have to be classified as self-heating substance according to EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.11.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
As the self-heating temperature lies above 220 °C, the test item does not have to be classified as self-heating substance according to EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.11.
