Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Acetylated lecithin is a UVCBS that has a low vapour pressure, is practically insoluble in water and has a high log Kow and Koc. It fulfils the criteria for readily biodegradability and is therefore anticipated to degrade rapidly in all environmental media. Although the substance has a weighted average log Kow >3.0, it is not expected to bioaccumulate in aquatic or terrestrial organisms due to ready biodegradation and the properties of its constituents (natural components of biological membranes that are unlikely to pass through membranes). The substance has a low vapour pressure (based on the vapour pressure of its most volatile component) and, therefore, volatilisation from surfaces or water is unlikely. Any potential environmental releases are expected to result in initial partitioning to soil, sediment and sewage sludge due to its high Koc, followed by rapid degradation.
