- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- 20 July 2017-14 August 2017
- Reliability:

- guideline study
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 211 (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test)
- Deviations:
- no
- GLP compliance:
- yes (incl. QA statement)
- Analytical monitoring:
- yes
- Details on sampling:
- A stock solution of the test item was prepared by dissolving 0.020 g of the test item (nominal; actually weighed amounts were 0.0200-0.0203 g) in 2000 mL of test medium, resulting in a nominal concentration of 10 mg test item/L. This stock solution was stirred for 1-2 h at ambient temperature in the dark. The stock solution was clear, without Tyndall effect, and used, undiluted, as the limit test concentration (10 mg/L).
Preparation of the stock solution (test solution) was repeated on days 5, 8, and 14 of exposure. - Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- The test vessels containing the test solutions were placed into a temperature controlled room at test temperature for temperature adaptation. The test vessels placed on three trays that were arranged in the testing area in a randomised manner at start of the test and after each renewal of test solutions.
- Test organisms (species):
- Daphnia magna
- Test type:
- semi-static
- Water media type:
- freshwater
- Limit test:
- yes
- Total exposure duration:
- 21 d
- Remarks on exposure duration:
- The measured concentrations were stable over the exposure period (≥90% of nominal). All biological results are therefore based on nominal concentrations.
- Post exposure observation period:
- Not relevant
- Hardness:
- 14.2 (°dH)
- Test temperature:
- 22.5-22.7°C
- pH:
- 7.6-8.1
- Dissolved oxygen:
- 8.4-8.3 mg/L
- Salinity:
- No information
- Conductivity:
- 676-677 µS/cm
- Nominal and measured concentrations:
- All measured concentrations were ≥ 90% of nominal. This indicates that the test item was stable in the test solutions. All biological results are therefore based on nominal concentrations.
- Details on test conditions:
- Summary of the physical-chemical parameters measured during the test period.

- Conclusions:
- At the concentration of 10 mg/L, no toxicity was observed during the test neither on reproduction/fecundity aspects, nor in Mortality/immobility of parental daphnids, and on length of parental dapnids.
- Executive summary:
The NOEC has been derermined at 10 mg/L, and a LOEC can been assessed ar a value higher than 10 mg/L.

Description of key information
Based on a valid OECD 211 semi-static test on Daphnia magna reproduction, no specific concentration-response relation ship of daphnid reproduction was observed for the test item. Therefore based on a limit test a NOEC has been deterrmined ( for reproductio/fecundity, Mortality and Lenght of parental daphnids) at 10 mg//L.
