Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The biotransformation of DEGDN in dry soil under aerobic conditions was slow. After 5 weeks, only 16 and 24% of the initial DEGDN (i.e. 20 ppm) was lost in sterile and nonsterile soil samples, respectively.

No transformation was observed in study on soil-water mixture in the sterile samples or in the aerobic-nonsterile sample, which is consistent with the results of previous aerobic soil biotransformation study. DEGDN was totally transformed after 21 days under nonsterile anaerobic conditions.

The half-life of DEGDN in water ranged from 5 to 40 days. The data suggest that DEGDN persists longer in soil than in water.
