Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Determination of the aquatic toxicity data, was done according to the method of Toxic Unit Summation (TUS) published by Sprague (Sprague J.B.,1970).

The data used for estimation of the results for endpoints:

- short term toxicity to fish;

- short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates,

- toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

come from results obtained in experimental studies for Acetic acid and Sodium acetate. Each read across approach for Sodium diacetate, was obtained using TUS calculation method, and the data on Acetic acid and Sodium acetate.

According these results it can be concluded that values of Sodium diacetate for these endpoint situate the substance above the classification limites for aquatic toxicity (according to CLP regulation).

The result of toxicity to microorganisms was calculated applying a read across approach from the results for Sodium acetate, based on the molecular weights of both substances (the studies for Acetic acid and Sodium acetate were realized using different methods, and the TUS calculation could not be applied).
