Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. If breathing is difficult or

ceases, give oxygen or artificial resuscitation. Keep

patient warm and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek  medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing, preferably under a shower.

Wash with soap and water. If symptoms develop, obtain

medical attention. Thoroughly wash clothing before reuse.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate the contaminated area, seek assistance. Wear

suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Contain the spill

by use of inert material and transfer to  suitable labelled

containers. Alternatively, absorb spillage onto inert

material. Collect for disposal or recovery and  minimise

discharges to drain. Wash spill site with water. Do not

allow waste to enter watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Gloves and safety goggles

should be worn. These should be decontaminated after use.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers away from light, heat and

moisture. Storage temperature, 0 - 5 deg C.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is packed in glass Winchesters enclosed in

Safepaks or polythene containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance is acidic and therefore corrosive. Storage in

artificial daylight causes polymerisation. The substance

reacts vigorously with primary and secondary amines.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical treatment known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal. The substance should be

dissolved in a suitable flammable solvent before

incineration in an approved facility equipped with waste gas

treatment  to  remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
