Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air immediately. Give oxygen or

artificial respiration as needed. Seek medical attention

immediately.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water for 20-30 minutes.

Retract eyelids often to ensure eye contact with water.

Seek medical attention if pain, blinking, tears or redness

persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with mild soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give lukewarm water (0.5 litre) if victim is completely

conscious and alert. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical

attention.

For medical personnel:

Following gastric emptying, an aqueous slurry of activated

charcoal should be administered followed by a cathartic.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, water fog, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products will be carbon oxides.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear protective clothing and respiratory protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate area and limit access. Wear protective equipment

(cf. 2.3.1). Do not allow the substance to enter sewers or

public water supplies. Restrict use of water when cleaning

up. Spread a granular cover to surfaces to avoid slipping.

Contain spillage and recover either by absorbing on inert

material for small spillages or, for large spills, by vacuum

collection.

Place waste material in suitable containers and dispose of

at a controlled landfill site or by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Keep floor around containers free of spilled material. If

heating to improve material flow, avoid overheating

(possible substance degradation and container overpressure).

Use local exhaust ventilation, otherwise handle in a well

ventilated room. Wear eye protection (chemical splash

goggles and/or face shield). Contact lenses should not be

worn.

If exposure via inhalation is likely, use adequate

respiratory protection.

General skin protection can be provided by wearing

long-sleeved shirts and long-legged overalls.

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Store in a warm location (25-32 deg C).

Avoid heat, sparks, open flames and strong oxidisers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Bulk shipments are made in stainless steel isotanks. Drum

quantities are packed in epoxy phenol-lined carbon steel

drums. Samples are packed in 1 litre glass containers, or 1

or 5 gallon plastic containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended for concentrates, and the substance itself; use

an approved facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Dilute aqueous waste may biodegrade. Avoid overloading/

poisoning the biological system. Ensure effluent complies

with applicable regulations.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
