Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flammability not recorded. Flash point = 99°C; boiling point = 260°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

No flammability study was conducted, as ETD is a liquid at 20°C and atmospheric pressure; a value for the flash point and boiling temperature are known for this substance (refer to sections 4.11 and 4.3, respectively), which provides sufficient information for Classification and Labelling.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The flash point of ETD (refer to IUCLID section 4.11) is 99°C; according to the CLP Regulation (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008), classification as a flammable liquid is only applicable for liquids with a flash point of not more than 60°C, and so ETD does not meet the criteria for classification as flammable. Similarly, ETD does not meet the criteria for classification as flammable according to the Dangerous Substances Directive (Directive 67/548/EEC) as classification for flammability only applies for liquids with a flash point of 55°C of less.
