Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

NOEC (56 d) ≥ 1000 mg/kg dw for Eisenia andrei (OECD 222)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A chronic test with fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsaturated, esters with pentaerythritol (CAS 85711-45-1) was conducted according to OECD 222 under GLP conditions (Amsel, 2013). Eisenia andrei was exposed to one test concentration of 1000 mg/kg dw in artificial soil for 56 days. Mortality and reproduction were recorded at the end of the study. No mortalities occurred resulting in a NOEC (28 d) for mortality of ≥ 1000 mg/kg dw. Regarding reproduction the earthworms of the test group produced more juveniles compared to the control group after the test period of 56 days. As it is no negative reproduction effect, the NOEC (56 d) for reproduction was determined to be ≥ 1000 mg/kg dw. Due to these results it can be concluded that the test substance will not exhibit effects on soil macroorganisms.
