Each sample was introduced under a binder previously placed around the truck of the animal and secured with staples. The trunks of the animals were wrapped securely with gauze and adhesive tape to keep the binder and test material in contact with the skin and to prevent ingestion of the applied material.
REMOVAL OF TEST SUBSTANCE
- Washing: Any unabsorbed material remaining on the skin was removed by gentle sponging with a moistened towel.
- Time after start of exposure: 24 hours

Character of Dermal Irritation |
Severe: Characterised by sloughing of skin, bleeding, fissures and serous oozing. |
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- Severe dermal irritation were seen in both animals. Sloughing of skin, bleeding fissures and serous oozing were seen in both animals with mortality seen in the second rabbit at Day 14.
