Conclusions:
Viscosity of Polycat 77 is independent of shear rate at temperatures of 20°C and 40°C, the material is a Newtonian fluid. Average viscosity is 0.024 mPa s at 20 C and 0.0157 mPa s at 40 C.
Executive summary:

In accordance with EU A4 Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Annex, Official Journal of the European Union L142/1, viscosity was measured using a rotational viscometer (OECD Guidelines for The Testing of
Chemicals, 114, May 12 1981). As per this guideline, the rotational viscometry test method is covered under ISO 3219:1993.

Viscosity was measured using the AR-G2 Rheometer (TA Instruments, New Castle, DE). A 60 mm diameter parallel plate geometry was used. Temperature was controlled using a Peltier heating element.
A fresh sample was loaded for each trial measurement. After sample loading, the sample was allowed an equilibration time of 6 min at the experimental temperature before the shear rate sweep measurements.
Viscosities were measured at shear rates ranging from 1 to 100 s
-1. Data points at lower shear rates (<6 s-1) are considered unreliable because of the low torque and are not included in the plots and average
viscosity calculations. Two trials were performed for each temperature analyzed. Viscosity was measured at 20°C and 40°C.

Figure 1 shows viscosity profiles of the sample as a function of shear rate at temperatures of 20°C and 40°C. Since the viscosity of the sample is independent of shear rate, the sample is a Newtonian fluid.
