Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing media are water spray, alcohol

resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Extinguishing media like high volume water jet should not be

used for safety reasons. Do not use a solid water stream as

it may scatter and spread fire.

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Special protective equipment for firefighting:

In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.

Use water spray to cool unopenend containers.

In the event of fire the workers should wear self-contained

breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Protective clothing should be worn, including gloves (i.e.

chloropren level 2 and butyl rubber level 6) and goggles.

Ensure adequate ventilation, keep people away and stay on

the upwind side. Avoid dust formation.

Methods for cleaning up should be:

Damm up.

Use mechanical handling equipment.

Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers.

Local authorities should be advised if signification

spillages cannot be contained.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes, for that purpose use

safety glasses and wear chemicals-resistant gloves, (e.g.

safety gloves of chloroprene Level 2 or of butyl rubber

Level 6). Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-

use.

At work, do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs. Wash hands

before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Contaminated

fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance

with local regulations.

Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately.
