Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Freezing temperature:

The determination of the freezing temperature with thermocouples showed no heat effect from which freezing could be deduced. Therefore, the phase transformation was determined visually.

In a preliminary test, 2ml test item 2 -(2'-Vinyloxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate was stored for 24 hours at -20 deg C. The test item was still a colourless liquid after storage.

In the main test, about 6ml of the test item placed in a small test tube was cooled down from room temperature to -70.9 deg C using a dry ice/isopropanole mixture. Below a temperature of about -44 deg C, the test item became more viscous, but remained liquid down to a temperature of -70.9 deg C. No solidification could be observed.

In conclusion, the freezing point of 2 -(2'-Vinyloxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate was determined to be < - 70.9°C which is equal to < 202.3K.

Conclusions:
During this study the freezing point/melting range of 2-(2'-Vinyloxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate has been determined. In conclusion the freezing point of 2-(2'-Vinyloxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate was determined to be < - 70.9 deg C which is equal to < 202.3 K).
Executive summary:

During this study the freezing point range of 2 -(2'-Vinyloxyethoxy)ethyl acrylate was determined to be < - 70.9 deg C which is equal to <202.3 K, this was determined according to the OECD guideline 102 and Method A1 of EEC Directive 92/69/EEC.
