Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO 13320 (Particle size analysis - Laser diffraction methods)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The analysis was carried out using the Coulter LS230 Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyser fitted with the Variable Fluids Module. Before adding to the instrument, the sample was pre-dispersed by mixing to a paste using a small amount of surfactant in solution. The material was run multiple times on the instrument. The runs were averaged and it is the averaged distributions that are shown.
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
No work reported in this document, unless otherwise stated, was carried out under the terms of the U KAS accreditation for UKAS Laboratory No 0967.
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of particle tested:
other: not specified
Type of distribution:
counted distribution
