Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of MMBA (3-methoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid) was determined to be 72.2 mN/m at 21°C.
- Executive summary:
MMBC (3-Methyoxy-2-methylbenzoylchloride) hydrolyses almost immediately in contact with water. Therefore the surface tension was determined on the hydrolysis product, MMBA (3-methoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid).
Under the conditions of the test, the surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of MMBA (3-methoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid) was determined to be 72.2 mN/m at 21°C. The test was conducted in accordance with EU Method A.5.
